Oh, I like my Doctor to be a dark and worrisome sometimes. Cute and adorkable one minute, fucked-up and scary the next. Many of my favorite fictional characters have that in common. :P

I have zero problems with him being angsty when it's apropos. And I'm sure it's apropos there. It's just such a... resigned sort of angst. Which I'm sure is for reasons not dissimilar to last year, when he was angsting immediately in the face of the loss of Rose - this year it's Master angst.

He just looks so disappointed, like 'Why do they always make me do things like this?'

Frankly, just about anything would be brighter and happier than Season 3, wouldn't you say?
