cheesygirl: (Wes fascinating cheesygirl)
I wanna go home! I feel ooky. I'll take my supper break in a few minutes, so maybe that will make me feel a bit better. Speaking of food, I drabbled for [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday. This week's topic is Food/Eating. I wasn't going to do one this week but then I started on this thing about Faith baking sugar cookies for Wes that went nowhere, and ended up using a story my mother told me over the weekend. It was a messy but much less gory one of her tales from when she worked in the Emergency Room. Fun with unorthodox uses of medical equipment! It's Spike and Fred because I decided to be silly and Spike is good at silly, especially when he's around pretty girls.

“Spike, what’s that smell? Are you cooking something?”

“Was just wanderin’ about. Found some leftover pizza in your little fridge there. It’s better warmed up.”

“But the microwave is broken. Did you find another heating element?” Fred looked around frantically. The last time Spike was bored and restless in the lab it took weeks to get the Mangar demon pus off the ceiling. Spike wanted to know what would happen if he poked it with a stick.

She got her answer when the autoclave* behind her emitted a loud bang.

Spike looked at her with innocent eyes. “Yes, I did.”

*an autoclave is the little oven that's used to sterilize surgical instruments. And yes, someone tried to heat up something in it during a Christmas party and it blew up. The food, not the autoclave.
