“Honey, why don’t you ask Wesley over for dinner tomorrow night?” Joyce asked.
“Mom! You know, it isn’t required that the Slayer’s mother have sex with all her Watchers.”
“Buffy!” Joyce scolded. “That’s not what I meant, and you know it. I just think—don’t you think he’s awfully thin? What does the Council pay them?”
“I dunno, with tea and tweed I guess. Anyway, I am not wasting my Saturday night on Mr. Stiff Upper Lip.”
“Buffy, you can be civil to him. I know you don’t want him taking Rupert’s place, but—don’t you think he’s awfully thin?”
