David Tennant Blackpool screencap pic spam part 2

David Tennant likes to touch himself. Alrighty, you dirty minded yabbos, I mean he does these little nervous gestures where he scratches his eyes and his nose and his head. I think it's cute. :P

He rubs his eyes all the time

And there's the scritchy nose

And the ear

I think this is a David Tennant thing because he does it as the Doctor too:

And in interviews:

Next, the tongue.

You don't have any nekkid touchy pics do you?

No, I've seen the nekkid police helmet pic and I had to wash out my brain with bleach.

The eye-rubbage is from contact lenses. I think he either does it unconciously or just tries to play it down so they don't have to do another take. Takes are EXPENSIVE!

Does he wear contacts? I remember him saying he needed glasses as a kid but I didn't know about the contacts. I thought I'd stared at his eyes often enough to notice. I wear contacts and do the same thing myself, always rubbing the inner edge of my eyes--my left especially because that's my irritant-sensitive eye.

::goes to stare at DT close ups--a lot::

I didn't know about the contacts

You can kind of see the contact rim in some of the EXTREME CLOSE UPS with the big puppy eyes.

I watch things too closely!

If that's from contacts, he seriously needs to get new ones. I've worn contacts for the last 20 years and I've never had to fuss with/near them on a regular basis--heck, I usually forget I'm even wearing them. Seems to me that it's much more likely that it's just a mannerism, because contacts just aren't that uncomfortable anymore.

contacts?

[identity profile] mustangsally78.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Dry eyes?

Some people can't tolerate the new contacts and have to keep using the old HARD ones. I dated a guy who did. Plus, allergies + contacts not good.

I don't wear contacts (and I always forget my glasses!) but I'm constantly touching my eyes because they get sticky and whatnot.

The hair, skritching, however, is just HIDEOUSLY cute and boyish.

[identity profile] alto2.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Maybe. My first contacts were the hard ones--wore them for ten years, loved them to bits, still sorry I had to give them up. As I say, didn't exactly spend my days rubbing my eyes (which, with hard lenses, could be rather dangerous).

Either way, I find it really hard to believe that, in 2006, TV producers wouldn't insist on finding a solution to a contact lens problem. I'm still going with mannerism.

I'm still going with mannerism

I'll see your mannerism and raise you a DISGUSTINGLY CUTE.

You'll never get an argument from me on that one! :)

I know! I absolutely adore his fidgetiness. I just want to hug him and cuddle him and call him George, he's so cute when he does that. :D

I'm just kinda butting in here, but it could be toric (weighted) contacts for an astigmatism. I have one in my left eye, so I have to wear them and if it's not in the right spot, you still can't see.

i think it's a boy actor thing. they're so full of testosterone, bless them, and being still makes them nervous. i've seen drama coaches threaten to tie their hands down in a scene to keep them from touching themselves.

(great. i just made it worse, didn't i? self-touching, and now bondage. drool...)

[identity profile] blasphemae.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, David definitely wears contacts. I see them all the time (I'm way too good at spotting contacts, even though I have bad eyes myself).

He has glasses similar to mine too! I know this only because the glasses he's spotted wearing in the confidential for one of the Cybermen episodes are definitely not the Doctor's glasses.

I. LOVE. YOU.

That is all. *hearts*

So adorable! Lovely, lovely post! :D

[identity profile] burndtlembas.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ha HAAAAAAAA! He flips people off as he rubs his eyes. HA!

Loved your oral fixation post and loving the touchy touchy post.

[identity profile] steffisorocks.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Actually it's more of a 'good actor' thing. It's called "busy work" on stage and on film. It's basically doing human actions that make you look natural while also giving you something to do other than just standing there.

Or he could be just a very fidgety man. :)

*whimper*

All the touching...so cute...cute and nervous and oh, doesn't he have lovely hands...

*faints dead away*

[identity profile] cheesygirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I love his hands. I have a thing for men with long slender fingers, as evidenced in previous pic spam (http://cheesygirl.livejournal.com/664054.html) of Alexis Denisof (Wesley from Angel). *sigh*

i think the glasses are Davids cos he wears the same ones in doctor who that he does in blackpool.

but i love it when he touhes himself (keep it clean lol)

[identity profile] th-esaurus.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
This is my favourite of the three 8D Cos I LOOOOVE when he does all the touchy-feely-ness XD

[identity profile] harriet2501.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
There's a funny one, in his first scene in 'Blackpool', in the casino. Carlisle and Blythe are standing by the body in the section cordoned off by orange police tape....Carlisle is side-on to the camera...It's just before he goes over to Ripley and introduces himself.

No. I don't want to say what he's doing. But he does it in such a slow, almost reflective way..... LOL

[identity profile] cheesygirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
::searches for scene::

OMG, that is so adorable! And I don't say that about every guy I see doing that. :P

[identity profile] sarichan.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my God. I had to think about it for a second, but it's seriously sad that I know exactly what you're talking about. I always loved that the first introduction to his character in Blackpool is... that. Hehehehe.

It is slow and reflective. Almost like he was scratching his head thinking about something... only not scratching his head at all...

[identity profile] the-dark-snack.livejournal.com 2006-06-19 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, need another towel.

I've had to friend you because I adore your wonderful pics and other offerings.
