Doctor Who/BtVS crossover drabble

Buffy heard muffled voices coming from Giles’s office as she entered the library.

“Those two are still bonding?” Buffy asked Willow, who was puzzling over a circuit board.

“Two peas in a tweed pod. You missed the part where they were comparing waistcoats.”

“Darn that snooze button.” Buffy sighed.

The office door opened. “Y-y-you really could show me the Library at Alexandria?” Giles said, awestruck.

The Doctor smiled broadly. “Certainly, my good man! That is if this young lady has successfully bewitched my velocity converter into working properly again.”

Willow handed the part to The Doctor. “I’m not sure if my fusion spell worked right or not. That fuse at the bottom got kinda melty. Sorry.”

“Nonsense! It’s supposed to be kinda melty. Good work!” he grinned.

Willow beamed.

The Doctor looked at Giles. “Well, come on. It’s a big library you know. You’ll want to see it all.”

“I’ll get my coat!” Giles said gleefully.

“Coming?” The Doctor asked Buffy and Willow.

“Is that wise?” Giles cautioned.

“Priceless learning experiences!” Willow said.

“Skipping chem lab! Uh, I mean, new slayage opportunities!” Buffy said.

“Excellent!” The Doctor said.

Giles sighed. “The Earth, the universe, time, and space are definitely doomed.”

That is my very favorite exchange of the whole fic. Just perfect.
