Wesley/Angel drabble

Wesley knocked on Angel’s open door. “Angel, I’m about to leave. I left the files you wanted on my desk.”

Angel peeked out from his kitchenette. “Hey, Wes. Why don’t you stick around? The game’s almost on.”

Wesley walked into the room. “Game?”

Angel came out with a couple of bottles of beer. “Monday Night Football. Gunn usually watches it with me but since he’s busy tonight…”

Wesley shook his head. “I don’t know the first thing about American football. I wouldn’t be very good company.”

Angel put the bottles next to a pizza box on the table. “What’s to know? One team tries to move the ball down to one end of the field and the other team tries to stop them. The rest is just details. Actually I’m more of a hockey fan myself. And honestly…”

“Yes?” Wesley asked curiously.

“I really use the game as an excuse to drink beer and eat pizza.”

“I thought vampires don’t eat food.” Wesley said.

“We can.”

“You never have.”

“Oh, okay. I…” Angel looked down sheepishly. “Ilikethemalebondingtime, okay?” he said quickly. He thrust a beer into Wesley’s hand and turned on the TV. “Now, are you ready for some footbaaaaall!?”
