You can have your big muscley Alpha males and your air-brushed pretty boys. Seriously, this is what gets me hot:

Humina humina humina. DT in Cambridge filming Einstein and Eddington. Yup, I got it bad for the nearsighted, tweedy professor type. I went into academia half hoping I'd run into something like that. So far it ain't happened. :-(

Aww..cuteness! It's weird to see him without his sideburns and with different glasses: he looks older ;-)

I kinda like him without the sideburns, or with tamer sideburns. Either way he's mighty purdy though. :)

Cuties like that are out there. You just have to keep looking. Try scouting around some of the different geek communities in order to find them.

Goodness, I didn't recognise him wihout the SBs. He's almost a bit Stephen Fry. Which is meant to be a compliment, of sorts.

I like the un-sideburny look. For awhile there his Doctor 'burns were getting a bit over the top. The change is nice.

Oh, god. ME TOO. *weeps* As the years pass, I realize I will have to seek out retired academics if I wish for an older man/woman...

Men in three-piece tweed suits? TOTALLY HOT.
Why is it the more clothing a handsome gentleman wears, the more I want to peel it off him?

Yum yum yum!

I seriously need to make an icon.

And my worst crush while studying in the UK was from South Africa (looked like the bloke in our icons). Second worst was from Switzerland (tweed jacket with patches, sigh). Perhaps they must flee their native soil to find the right atmosphere/clothing store? ;)

Good luck with that degree, btw.

I had 2 totally hot professors. One of them had the little round glasses, and wore suits and ties. He had the most beautiful blue eyes in the world. I couldn't meet his eyes when we were talking, because I would completely lose track of what I was saying and end up in my happy place (where he was wearing a lot less.)
